该字体简要说明：：
炎黄-Unifont点阵字体是在GNU Unifont (by Roman Czyborra , David Starner )和yh-3.1中的GBK 16 点阵字体(中科红旗, http://www.redflag-linux.com/ )合并而成。炎黄中文平台字体中的20902个CJK汉字点阵通过程序提取替换了原Unifont字体中的“中日韩统一表意文字”区间（U+4E00~U +9FA5)，这样不但填补了原字体中该区间缺少的近三千汉字点阵，而且汉字点阵的质量大大提高。下面是原Unifont和新字体字型的比较
在yhunifont 1.2中，我们添加了刚刚完成的610个CJK扩展A区汉字点阵，这些点阵主要是由下面的参与者完成的：
Funda Wang [fundawang] (fundawang # gmail _ com)
Haitao Han [niqiu] (chenniqiu # gmail _ com)
Qianqian Fang [FangQ] (fangq # nmr _ mgh _ harvard _ edu)
[PONY] (yangxcmail-linux # yahoo _ com _ cn)
[Mark Lam] (mark.jlam # gmail _ com)
[buick]
另外，我们还导入了firefly 16px点阵中的400多个新点阵。整个字体的字体总数突破四万大关。此外，韩文部分的一万多点阵也被更新为HanTerm3.0点阵，从而使得显示效果大大提高，整个字体风格也趋向统一。
“文泉驿”的参与者将不断地对汉字点阵进行优化，我们将不断在今后的发行版本中把优化后的汉字点阵，包括其他字号的点阵字体包含进来，请关注我们的网站，并欢迎参与。
注：yhunifont字体与我们前一段发布的WenQuanYi Bitmap Song的主要差别在于：该字体为单一字号，主要特色是‘完整“，而Bitmap Song为多字号，主要满足用户常见字号的屏幕显示优化。
安装方法：
Installation
To install yhunifont, first, extract the package, it will
create a sub-directory "wqy-yhunifont"; you can move this
folder to any preferred location, we suggest you putting it
underneath /usr/local/share/fonts/ (if you have root
privilage). Then you can navigate into "wqy-yhunifont"
directory and type
mkfontdir .
a new file named "fonts.dir" will be created, then you can
add this path to your X server font path by
xset +fp /path/to/wqy-yhunifont
then, type "xlsfonts | grep yhunifont", you should be able
to see the full name of the font. If nothing is printed,
something must be wrong and you have to go back and check.
For programs using fontconfig, you need to use
fc-cache /path/to/wqy-yhunifont
to create a file named "fonts.cache-1" as well as to update
the system font cache.
If you have downloaded the rpm package (for Redhat Linux)
instead of a tar ball, you can install the font by the following
command:
rpm -ivh wqy-yhunifont*.rpm
To use yhunifont as the bitmap preview font in fontforge,
simply add the following line in ~/.Xdefaults
fontforge.FontView.FontFamily: yhunifont
then type
xrdb ~/.Xdefaults
to activate this setting.
